KFC and MCDonald’s were going head to head in a battle for market share in the sale of chicken products. We developed a series low cost, under the radar stunts – in this instance we used the Ronald iconography to deliver our “chicken tastes better at KFC” message. We hired a guerrilla team of 30 students to strategically place KFC take-out bags by the side of Ronald McDonald statues at 51 McDonald’s restaurants everyday for 3 weeks.

The poster appeared simultaneously in wild postings which fooled folks into thinking it was some kind of street art due to its lack of overt branding. The stunt drew lots of media attention and helped KFC win back it’s fried chicken business.
